Where and How to Buy CBD Oil
The number one question I am asked almost daily is where and how to buy CBD Oil. This may seem quite odd to some folks because there is so much confusion, lack of knowledge and absolutely false claims made about CBD Oil and its by-products.
What to Look For When Buying CBD Oil
One of the biggest mistakes people make is confusing Hemp Oil with CBD Oil since they are totally different products and meant to accomplish different objectives. Hemp Oil is a great nutritional supplement full of benefits of its own but doesn’t have the properties of CBD Oil.
Hemp oils is obtained from pressing the oil from hemp seeds while CBD oil is extracted from the leaves and stalks of the actual hemp plant. Both contain little to only trace amounts of Tetrahydrocannabinol better known as THC.
The Cannabis or Marijuana plant is where the higher content of THC comes from and even then it is found only in the female plant and in the sweet leaves and flower. Let’s not become overly concerned with CBD that is derived from the hemp plant.
The question once again is, how to by CBD Oil. My suggestion is very carefully since this is still a somewhat unregulated industry and the degrees of purity are all over the board. I have seen purities anywhere from 16% CBD with the remainder being Avocado and Coconut oil also known as MCT oil, to 99% CBD Oil with a 1% vegetable glycerin base.
My CBD Oil Recommendations
Being in the CBD oil business we receive samples from companies all over the country almost on a weekly basis trying to convince that their products are the best on the planet. They send us everything from brownies, chocolates that were melted and a total mess when we opened them right down to wildly flavored oils and bath bombs.
The following is a list of what we feel are the highest quality and purest products on the market. We will list them in order of what we feel is the best quality. The lower numbers are the highest quality.
1. Green Roads the product I use for my family is Pharmacist Formulated and is 99% Pure CBD Oil with a 1% vegetable glycerin base. Many doctors here in Florida also carry it for their patients.
2. NuLeaf Naturals from 100% organic Colorado Hemp but they don’t offer edibles at the time of the writing.
3. CBDistillery formed in 2016 by a group of Colorado natives rates reasonably well on our scale.
4. Charlotte’s Web loved by some people but I wasn’t very impressed with its performance
5. Diamond CBD is my last choice since they use alcohol in their extraction methods and that turned me off immediately.
Be Sure CBD Oil is Third Party Testing
Third part testing from an independent laboratory, not their own lab should be a requirement for any CBD products you buy. Always check to see if there is a QR Code on their packaging to enable you to check the lab reports right there in the store. At minimum, scan the report before you buy the products since some reports are quite lengthy on comprehensive filled with medical jargon.
It’s also a good idea to check how the hemp is grown and does it come from a farm that is USDA inspected and approved. The 5 companies I have listed for you all pass these requirements.
How to Buy CBD OIL Online
When shopping for CBD Oil or any other CBD Related products remember that in most cases cheap usually means you are looking at an inferior product or possible confusing Hemp Oil with CBD. As mentioned mentioned earlier they are two totally different products with different purposes.
My suggestion is not to buy and CBD oil or CBD products online unless you know the following. Is the CBD Oil CO2 Extracted because if it isn’t then they are using solvent such as Alcohol, Butane or Benzine. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want those chemicals in body or anyone of my family or friends.
Also remember that when you are reading product review online many of those reviews are written by the exact people trying to sell you their products. Another old adage is Caveat Emptor which means “Let The Buyer Beware” the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.
Be sure you are buying from a reputable company with third party independent testing from an independent laboratory and not their own testing laboratory. Look for purity of no less than 95% pure CBD Oil with no additives and of upmost importance that the CBD Oil be CO2 extracted.
