How To Stop Sciatica Pain Fast

Did you know that the human body is composed of no less than 7 trillion nerves?

All these nerves are all a part of the nervous system and are either a part of the central nervous system where the brain is also a part of, or the peripheral nervous system, which branches off from the spinal cord and extends to different parts of the body.

And from what you’ve learned in biology class, the nervous system is responsible for sending signals throughout the body via nerves and neurons.

Woman With Sciatica Pain The largest nerve in the body is called the sciatic nerve, which is formed by the merging of five nerve roots from the lower spine down to the buttock, the back of the thigh, and all the way down to the soles of the feet.

When pushed too hard, the sciatic nerve can send a terrible pain signal over a vast area in the body. In this post, we’ll talk about how to stop sciatica pain fast.

What Is Sciatica?

Sciatica is the term used to refer to the painful sensation felt radiating from the sciatic nerve, originating in the gluteal area.

As mentioned, the sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, and it is also the thickest and longest.

True injury to the sciatic nerve itself is very rare, so the term “sciatica” is simply a term used for describing pain that originates in the lower back and runs down the leg.

It’s often characterized by an irritating and pinching pain, which is caused by the compression or inflammation of a nerve in the lower back.

Man With Sciatica Pain People with sciatica experience mild to severe pain anywhere along the regions of the sciatic nerve—that is, anywhere from the lower back region, the hips, the buttocks, and the legs.

The pain can sometimes cause muscle weakness in the legs and foot, as well as numbness in the leg area and a tingling sensation in the foot and toes.

People with sciatica pain describe the sensation in different ways.

Some describe it as a sharp, shooting, or jolting pain. Others say it’s like an “electric” or “burning” sensation.

For some, the pain may come and go, while for others, the pain may be constant. Most people with sciatica also report that the pain is more severe in the leg area than in the lower back.

Also, the pain often feels worse when standing or sitting for long periods.

Recently, there’s been a buzz on the potential of CBD to help with the condition. CBD is short for cannabidiol, a beneficial compound found in the hemp plant.

CBD Oil To Eliminate PainI’m going to talk about the causes and common treatments used for sciatica pain, but if you’re wondering what CBD is and what it can do for sciatica pain, you can head to this link right now to get the information you need.

Causes and Treatment

The thing about sciatica is that it can develop either gradually or suddenly, depending on the cause.

A disk herniation, for instance, can cause a sudden development of sciatica pain, while one that’s associated with arthritis in the spine area may develop a bit slower and more gradually.

Sciatica is a common health problem.

Approximately 40% of people in the United States report having experienced sciatica pain at some point in their life.

Moreover, certain physical characteristics of a person may increase the risk for the occurrence of sciatic pain.

According to research, people who are overweight or are taller than 170 cm for women and 180 cm for men have a higher risk of developing the condition.

Woman Suffering With Back PainAnd while women are more likely to develop sciatica, men are reported to have more surgery and hospitalization due to sciatica pain.

The type of occupation of an individual can also be a risk factor for developing sciatica.

For instance, truck drivers, carpenters, and machine workers have a higher chance of experiencing sciatica pain, since the nature of their work requires them to perform certain movements that have a tendency to cause injury to the regions where the sciatica is located.

People who do office work and sit for long periods without proper posture are also more likely to experience sciatica pain than those whose work involves more standing and walking.

As for the treatment options for sciatica, treatment may either be nonsurgical or surgical.

It is ideal that sciatica is treated as early as possible to keep the symptoms from progressing. Surgery is only indicated when the underlying cause of the problem is severe.

Man With Back PainHowever, the first line of treatments typically includes a combination of medications, physical therapy, alternative therapies, and therapeutic injections.

Acute sciatica usually  improves after four to six weeks of nonsurgical treatment. If the condition is chronic where the pain lasts for over 2 months, treatment time may take a bit longer, depending on the underlying cause.

Does CBD Work For Sciatica?

Now, here’s a very important question: Does CBD work for sciatica? As I have mentioned earlier, there has been a buzz lately about CBD being a potential treatment option for sciatica pain.

Recently, more and more people are considering the use of CBD-based products as an alternative to conventional treatment options.

Research indicates the cannabidiol can help alleviate neuropathic and nociceptive pain.

This is important because sciatica is caused by both. CBD plays a huge role in partnership with the body’s endocannabinoid system, also known as the ECS.

Healthy Green CBD Oil ProductsIt binds with the CB1 and CB2 receptors, sending signals to your brain regarding different functions and conditions in your body, as well as restoring homeostasis.

In this manner, CBD helps combat inflammation and pain, making it a potential remedy for pain-related issues in the body, including sciatica.

It’s already been proven by research that CBD has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties and has the potential to treat neuropathic pain.

Since sciatic pain is a form of neuropathic pain, it’s not a question that using CBD-based products can potentially help relieve it.

That said, while no study has directly looked into the effects of CBD on sciatic pain, anecdotal evidence and suggestive science both prove that the idea of CBD being a potential treatment for sciatic pain is not unreasonable.

What Form Of CBD Should You Use?

CBD-based products come in different forms. Green Roads, for instance, has a wide range of CBD products (you can get them here), including CBD oil, CBD topical, CBD capsules, CBD soft gels, and CBD gummy bears.

As to what form of CBD product you should use for sciatica pain, it’s all up to you, depending on what you’re comfortable using.

One thing you need to understand is that CBD products may either be full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, or CBD isolate.

The type of CBD product you take may have an effect on your overall experience.

Green Roads1500MG CBD OilFull-spectrum CBD products contain the full range of cannabinoids that can be extracted from the hemp plant, including CBD and 0.3% THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD products contain a broad range of cannabinoids and essentially zero amounts of THC.

I would personally recommend full-spectrum CBD products for sciatica pain, considering that most studies done on CBD involve a combination of CBD and THC. It’s not to say that broad-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate products are not as effective.

It’s just that Full-spectrum CBD offers an entourage effect, which increases the chances of a therapeutic experience.

It’s also important to note that CBD oil acts faster than most forms of CBD since it’s taken sublingually.

You simply place a drop or two below your tongue and wait for a minute before swallowing it.

Healthy Green CBD Oil - For Fast Long Lasting Pain ReliefAfter 15 minutes, you can already feel the difference that CBD brings. CBD cream also works well since you can apply it directly to the area where you’re experiencing the pain.

If you want a more discreet way of taking CBD, you can also take CBD capsules or even CBD gummy bears.

To conclude, sciatica is the painful sensation in the lower back and legs caused by irritation on the sciatic nerve.

If you’re wondering how to stop sciatica pain fast, you’re not alone, as millions of people in the US alone suffer from the condition.

In this post, I shared with you how CBD could potentially help relieve sciatica pain. It is not a cure for sciatica, nor will it address the underlying issue causing the pain.

Healthy Green CBD Oil - Man In PainHowever, CBD has been found to possess anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, which means it can help alleviate some serious symptoms associated with sciatica.

Also, if you’re taking any form of medication for sciatica pain right now, it would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about using CBD products.

Your doctor may offer some advice on the best way you can integrate CBD into your treatment so that you can be sure of its safety and effectiveness.

And if you’re wondering what brand of CBD you should invest in, I personally recommend Green Roads.

As mentioned, Green Roads has a wide range of CBD products that include CBD oil, CBD cream, and CBD edibles. As an award-winning brand and leader in the CBD industry,

Thanks for this article. I don’t really know much about CBD and I’m not sure if I have sciatica pain. I would say the pain feels more like a dull ache than anything else. I might have to do more research to see if this is what I have. It’s nice to know that I could use CBD oil to help with pain. Question, is it hard on your stomach the same way Advil and other painkillers are?

My husband was complaining about pain in the upper legs and when he went for a check-up, the doctor said he has sciatica. 🙁 We can’t figure out why he had it. Thankfully, the pain was gone after several weeks. Is sciatica an on and off thing? I have a friend who also has it and she has flares of sciatica every now and then.

Hopefully my husband’s pain will no longer come back, if it does one day, we will take a look at CBD oil and see if it will help the condition. Thank you for sharing this informative post.

I love the fact that CBD and cannabis are becoming the go-to medication for dealing with pain.  All-natural, non-addictive and safer opioids.  I’m sure the pharmaceutical companies aren’t happy but they are the ones who have marketed dangerous and habit-forming drugs for years so they deserve to lose the business!  Thank you for posting!
